The first UK Micro national challenge happened on Sunday 2nd April.

80 drivers were booked in for the on-road and off-road classes available with the off road brushed being the most popular with 40 drivers booked in. The track at Tamworth was superbly laid out with two parts slit into and on road and off road section.

There were several purpose made off road ramps and table top jumps for the off road section, and twisty hairpin corners and fast straights for the on road racers.

Once all competitors were booked in practice started on time in a heat by heat format. The grip on the track was very low initially, but as the track got used and the room warmed up abit the grip level rose to give a very fast track.

The format of the day was three rounds of qualifying, the 2 finals for all. The XRAY M18 and M18T were favourite chassis to run with during the whole event.

Overall the day ran on time with no problems or arguments at all. There were no track problems and the general consensus was that the meeting was fun, fast and efficient.
